Change Simulated Product Configuration

The purpose of this procedure is to change, add or delete material in a simulated product configuration.

Before you start

Before you can begin to change a simulated product configuration, one must be created.

Follow these steps

Follow the steps below to change a simulated product configuration.

  1. Start 'Config & Simulation. Open' (PDS605).

  2. Mark the simulated configuration to be changed and select option Simulated result (option 14).

  3. Find the product structure in which the change is to be made. When there is no information on product structure level, the simplest way to do this is to first enter 1 in the field 'Products only'. Then, check to find the level on which the product exists. Enter 0 in field Products only, and then specify the level and product number in the search field at the top of the panel.

  4. Change, add or delete material in the product structure.A text is describing the change, displayed to the left of the line.Lines that have their own product structure cannot be changed or deleted. Such changes must be made directly in the product configuration, after which a simulated configuration must be re-created. Changes made in the simulated configuration will be seen in manufacturing orders created when the simulated configuration is created. Note that it will only effect orders created after the change has been made.

  5. Check any material shortages or the feasibility of keeping to the delivery schedule in program 'Availability. Simulate For Material' (MMS085). This program is called using option 28=Comp avail sim in front of the product structure whose material is to be checked.

Output

Changes are made in a simulated product configuration when using this procedure.
