Engineering/Recipe Change Management
This module is used to manage engineering changes of items, documents, document structures, drawings, or bills of material. This includes processing the entry, distribution, authorization, approval, and implementation of the changes.

Technical documentation management
When a technical document is created, the way to change it must be specified. This can be done either manually or using an engineering change order (ECO). When the latter is chosen, all future changes to the version number of the document can only be made using an ECO.
Inventory management
When an item is entered into the system, the way to change it must be specified. This can be done either manually or using an ECO. When the latter is chosen, all future changes to the version number of the item can only be made using an ECO.
Engineering and manufacturing data
Here, all changes can be entered and displayed immediately in the bill of material as soon as they are approved.
Manufacturing order processing
When a manufacturing order is created, implemented changes to the bill of material within the lead time for the MO will be taken into consideration. A change can also be introduced for an MO created with a specific project number.
Purchase order management
Items included in a purchase order are automatically checked to determine whether they have been changed since the previous order or if a change is planned for it. When this is so, a warning is issued.

Changes can only be made to items, documents, document structures, product drawings, or bills of material that are specified in M3.
