Create Simulated Product Configuration Manually
The purpose of this procedure is to manually create a simulated product configuration and product costing.
This procedure should not be used when simulated product configurations and costings are created automatically. This is regulated by the basic data in program 'Settings - Product Configuration' (CRS585).
Before you start
Before you can create a simulated product configuration manually, a configuration must be created.
Follow these steps
Follow the steps below to create a simulated product configuration manually.
-
Select program 'Config & Simulation. Open' (PDS605).
-
Press F13=Parameters and specify if simulated configurations should be created in batches or interactively.
-
Mark a line for which a simulated configuration is to be created and select option 'Create simulation' (option 21. The configuration is assigned status 22 until the simulated configuration is created. This is shown by a new line immediately under the selected configuration.
-
A simulated configuration can be re-created. Again, mark the line to be recreated and select option 'Create simulation' (option 21).This is done when changes/updates to a product structure should be included. If changes to a Drawing Measurement for a product structure should be included, the configuration must also be re-created. This is done by marking the line and selecting option 'Configuration' (option 27).
-
Several simulated configurations can be created for one configuration. A simulated configuration is identified by product number, configuration number and sequence number.
-
Select option Sim cost calc (option 22) in front of the simulated configuration to perform costing. A costing can also be created when the simulated configuration is created. This is regulated by the basic data in 'Settings - Product Configuration' (CRS585).
Output
Simulated product configurations with corresponding costings are created for a product configuration when using this procedure.
