Define Activity in Time and Attendance
This document explains how you define an identity for an activity.
Outcome
An activity is created and connected to a time type. Activities are stored in the MTMPRI file.
Activities are primarily used as tools for measuring the time spent on activities that lie outside of an employee's normal work tasks (union work, for example).
Employees start activities in 'Time Activity. Clock In' (TMS002) and end activities in 'Time Activity. Clock Out' (TMS003). When an activity is ended, the time of the activity is automatically calculated in M3 via 'Calculation of Activity Time' (TMS406). Activities that have not been ended can also be calculated in 'Calculated Time. Generate for Activity' (TMS405).
You can review activity times in the same program as you review other calculated times, for example in 'Calculated Time. Approve On-screen' (TMS230) or 'Calculated Time. Update' (TMS220).
Activity times can also be reviewed and adjusted in 'Time Activity. Report' (TMS260).
Before you start
- The starting conditions listed in Creating Time Rules, Time Balances and Employee Groups in Time and Attendance must be met.
- Time types must exist in 'Time Type. Open' (TMS100).
