Managing Quality Inspection (QI) Requests

The 'QI Request. Manage' (QMS420) program allows for the management and maintenance of QI requests that are generated from various transactions (lot creation, manufacturing orders, purchase orders, customer orders, etc.).

One of the main functions of this program is the ability to move a container or a lot quantity from one QI request to another QI request. It also serves to provide more detailed information on the status of a QI request.

Note: The information displayed is based on lots with a balance ID of '1 - Under inspection.'

Before you start

The setup conditions outlined in Setup of Quality Inspection (QI) Requests must be met.

Outcome

Updates, such as the transfer of containers and/or lot quantities, are made from one QI request to another.

Follow these steps

Process for managing QI Requests

  1. Reclassify an Item/Lot:

    1. Start 'Balance Identity. Reclassify' (MMS130).

    2. On the A panel, the associated QI request is displayed.

For instructions on using this program, see .

  2. Open a QI request:

    1. Start 'QI Request. Open' (QMS300).

    2. On the B1 panel, highlight the desired Item on the QI request.

    3. Select Related > Manage QI Request to navigate to 'QI Request. Manage' (QMS420). Continue to step 5.

  3. Create a Lot/Serial Number:

    1. Start 'Lot/Serial Number. Open/Connect to Item' (MMS235).

For instructions on using this program, see .

    2. On the B1 panel, select an Item number.

    3. Highlight the desired Lot number for that item.

    4. Select Related > Manage QI Request to navigate to 'QI Request. Manage' (QMS420). Continue to step 5.

  4. View the Balance ID of an Item:

    1. Start 'Balance Identity. Display' (MMS060).

    2. On the B1 panel, select an Item number.

    3. Highlight the desired Lot number for that item.

    4. Select Related > Manage QI Request to navigate to 'QI Request. Manage' (QMS420).

  5. Manage the QI request:

    1. On the B1 panel of QMS420, specify the Warehouse, Item, and Lot number.

Note: These fields are populated if you have navigated from a previous program, such as 'QI Request. Open' (QMS300) or 'Lot/Serial Number.Open/Connect to Item' (MMS235).
    2. Click Apply and the associated records are displayed in the grid.

    3. If desired, modify the existing QI request ID on a table row to a different QI Request ID.

Note: If you have specified a new QI request ID to replace an existing QI request, there is a restriction that the new QI request ID should be associated with the same Item and Lot.

In addition, assuming that the balance ID status is '1 - Under inspection' and for the original QI request the Approval Status is '0 - Pending,' the new QI Request must have one of these Approval Status values: '0 - Pending', '1 - Released', '2 - In-process', '3 - Completed'.

    4. Click Next to save your changes.

    5. If you want to continue to the put-away activity, select Related > Put-away. The data, including the QI request ID, will be passed to the Put-away program.

Function program for managing QI requests

The QMS420Fnc function program has this operation:

  • The Change operation manages the process of searching through QI requests using the defined criteria and then updating a QI request ID and specifying the status of the new QI request.
    • If the balance ID status is '1 - Under inspection' and the original QI request's Approval Status is '0 - Pending':

The allowed Approval Statuses for the target QI request are '0 – Pending', '1- Released', '2 – In-process' or '3 – Completed'
