Define Basic Settings for MO Reporting
This document explains how you define the settings that affect the reporting of manufacturing orders.
Outcome
You have adjusted the manufacturing programs after the company's manufacturing order process.
The reporting of manufacturing orders is facilitated by some general parameters that are defined by default. You have, for example, specified whether completion of MO, components, and operation should be automatic when the manufactured quantity is received and registered.
Before you start
Follow these steps
-
Start 'Settings - Operation Reporting' (PMS490).
-
Select whether you want automatic completion of these functions:
- Manufacturing order at delivery
- Withdrawal of material
- Reporting of operations.
-
Select whether you want to allow reporting of these:
- Completed material
- Completed manufacturing order.
-
Select a time calculation method for reporting operations:
- 1 = 'Total calc', calculation of both labor and machine time.
- 2 = 'Labor time', calculation of only labor time.
-
In 'Allow parallel operations', select whether an employee should be allowed to be logged on to several parallel operations at the same time.
-
Select a time calculation method for parallel jobs:
- 1 = 'No distribution', labor time is the same as the actual reported hours.
- 2 = 'Even distr', labor time is distributed evenly per operation.
- 3 = 'Distr oper time', labor time is distributed in relation to total hours per operation.
-
In 'Mandatory authorization of reported op transactions', select whether you want only authorized reported transactions to be used to generate the piece rate employees pay.
-
In 'Print bar codes on MO documents', select whether you want bar codes to be printed on order documents.
-
Select a cost center source for reported operation time:
- 0 = 'Worker', the worker's own cost center.
- 1 = 'Department', the department that performed the reported operation.
- 2 = 'Planning area', the foreman area.
- 3 = 'Operation', the work center.
-
Select whether the time should be displayed in hours and minutes.
-
Select a separator to be used between the hours and minutes in the system.
-
Select whether you want to allow date and time changes.
Parameters to set
Program ID/Panel | Field | The field indicates… |
---|---|---|
(PMS490/E) | Automatic completion of MO at receipt |
… whether automatic completion of manufacturing orders will take place when a manufactured quantity is reported as received. The reported quantity has to be greater than or equal to the ordered quantity. |
(PMS490/E) | Automatic completion of components |
… whether automatic completion will take place when material issues are reported through requisition. The reported quantity has to be greater than or equal to the reserved quantity. |
(PMS490/E) | Automatic completion of operations |
… whether automatic completion will take place when performed work is reported on an order's operations. The manufactured quantity has to be greater than or equal to the ordered quantity. |
(PMS490/E) | Allow reporting for completed MO |
… whether reporting a delivery on an already completed manufacturing order is allowed. |
(PMS490/E) | Allow reporting for completed component |
… whether material issue is permitted when components are completed on the manufacturing order. This code applies exclusively when reporting takes place through requisition. |
(PMS490/E) | Time calculation method for reporting operation |
… which type of time calculation should be performed when an operation is partly reported on a manufacturing order. These are the valid alternatives:
When an operation is flagged as complete, time is always calculated according to alternative 1 for manufacturing orders. For maintenance orders, no machine time will be calculated. |
(PMS490/E) | Allow parallel operation | … whether an employee may be logged on to several operations simultaneously. |
(PMS490/E) | Time calculation method for parallel jobs |
… how operation time should be distributed when multiple operations are performed in parallel. Note that machine time is always the actual time. These are the valid alternatives:
Example: Alt 1: When two operations are run in parallel for an hour, both are assigned one hour of labor time. Alt 2: When two operations are run in parallel for an hour, each operation is assigned half an hour of labor time. Alt. 3: Operation 1 has a total of 10 hours and operation 2 has a total of 5 hours. Operation 1 will be assigned a labor time corresponding to 10/15 of the time. Operation 2 will be assigned a labor time corresponding to 5/15 of the time. |
(PMS490/E) | Mandatory authorization of reported operations transactions | … whether only authorized reported transactions should be used to generate the piece rate employees pay. |
(PMS490/E) | Print bar codes on MO documents | … whether bar codes should be printed on manufacturing order documents. |
(PMS490/E) | Cost center source on reported operation time |
… which cost center to use when piece rates are transferred to Payroll Administration (PR). These are the valid alternatives:
When operations within the data collection section of Production Activity Control (PAC) are reported, each worker can be connected to a time type in Time and Attendance. This is done in 'Person. Open' (CRS530/F). The time type is then used to display the total operation time used per worker and day. |
(PMS490/E) | Display time in hours and minutes |
… whether time should be displayed in hours and minutes. These are the valid alternatives:
|
(PMS490/E) | Separator between hours and minutes |
… the separator to be used between hours and minutes in the system. Example: Using a period as the separator will result to this format: 8.27. Using a colon will result to this format: 8:27. |
(PMS490/E) | Allow date and time changes |
… whether registering the date and time should be allowed. Date and time are used to calculate times based on values manually reported. If you select the field, the computer will suggest a date and time, which you can change if you want. If you do not select the field, the computer's date and time will be used. |
(PMS490/F) | Allow card number inquiry |
… whether the prompt function for the card number field during manual reporting should be allowed. |
(PMS490/F) | Mark calculated operation transactions |
…. whether the operation reports that have been calculated will be marked completed if the check box has been selected and will be recalculated if this check box has been unselected. |
(PMS490/F) | Allow reporting for alternative materials |
…. whether alternative materials are allowed on manufacturing orders. |
(PMS490/F) | Prevent negative on-hand balance | ...whether negative on-hand balance in (MWS068) will be
prevented at manufacturing order issue. These are the valid
alternatives:
Note: By default, alternative is set to 0 and lot-controlled items will
be prevented at manufacturing order issue.
If alternative is set to 1, both lot and non-lot-controlled items will be prevented. There is no change in the backflush logic performed by a submitted job (example (PMS065)), but if the material is issued in (PMS060), quantity check will be performed. |
