Reschedule Manufacturing Order

This document explains how you change times and quantities on a manufacturing order (MO).

Outcome

You have solved a load, capacity or material problem by changing the start date, finish date and/or quantity on an MO.

The work center schedule has been rescheduled.

These files are affected:

  • Work order headers, stored in (MWOHED)
  • Work order operations, stored in (MWOOPE)
  • Work order materials, stored in (MWOMAT)
  • Detailed load for rough-cut capacity planning, stored in (MCPSPE)
  • Capacity/load per resource and week, stored in (MCPSUM)
  • Planning group workload/year, stored in (MWLOAD).
  • The 'Reschedule lower level' parameter indicates whether manufacturing orders on lower levels that have been created through explosions should be rescheduled automatically.

Before you start

  • There must be a registered MO. Refer to Creating Manufacturing Order for more information.
  • Rescheduling is only allowed on orders with a status lower than 90 and where no picking lists are active.

Follow These Steps

Change Times and Quantities for an MO

  1. Start 'Manufact Order. Reschedule' (PMS010/B).

It is also possible to click on option 21=Reschedule MO in 'Work Center Schedule. Open' (PMS230).

  2. Select a product number and an MO number.

  3. On the File menu, click New to create a rescheduled MO. The E panel is displayed.

  4. Change the values in one or several of these fields:

    • Order quantity alternative unit of measure
    • Priority
    • Start date and time

If the MO has a dynamic lead time, only start or finish dates can be entered. If a start date is entered, the system will use forward scheduling and if a finish date is entered, it will use backward scheduling. A start or a finish date can also be entered if the facility uses shift planning.

    • Finish date and time

See comment for Start date and time.

  5. For order initiated MOs, the 'Reschedule lower levels' field is also displayed.

Select whether you want lower levels that were created through explosions to be automatically rescheduled.

  6. Press Enter to go back to the B panel.

  7. Check the MO in the table. If the values, including your changes, are correct, click Finish to execute the changes.

If you want to check the results, start 'Manufact Order. Open' (PMS100).
