Create Manufacturing Order Directly

This document explains how you can create a manufacturing order that goes directly into production without previous controls.

Outcome

You have directly created a manufacturing order based on a need. The directly created manufacturing order has not gone through the controls that are carried out on planned manufacturing orders.

The directly created manufacturing order automatically becomes a manufacturing order with order category 101.

See 'How the system is affected' in Creating Planned Manufacturing Order.

Before you start

The conditions that apply for the creation of planned manufacturing orders also apply for the direct creation of manufacturing orders. See Prepare and Release Planned Manufacturing Order.

Follow these steps

  1. Start 'Manufact Order. Enter' (PMS001/B).

  2. Specify the product number.

  3. Check that the product structure type and facility are correct.

  4. Click 'New' to open the E panel.

  5. Specify the 'Ordered quantity' which is a required field.

  6. Specify either when the manufacturing will start in the 'Start date' field or when it will be completed in the 'Finish date' field.

  7. If necessary, specify these fields:

    • Location
    • Project number

The field indicates the unique identity of a project.

    • Production line

The field indicates the planning group in which the product is produced.

    • Infinite/finite

The field indicates whether over capacity is created for the bottleneck operations in connection with the calculation of the start and/or finish times for an order.

    • Reference order number – applies for the prepared manufacturing order
    • Project element

The field indicates the manufacturing order's type of activity.

  8. Check and, if necessary, change these fields:

    • Status – applies for the prepared manufacturing order
    • Explosion

The field indicates whether the manufacturing order is created for opening semi-products with order-initiated planning methods. You can change the planning method in connection with new registrations.

    • Responsible
    • Warehouse
    • Order type

The order type controls how orders are handled in the order flow.

If the order type specified supports Dynamic aging (AGIG=2), the user is presented with editable fields for manual reclass date (MREC) and time (MRCT) on the F panel. This will default to a date and time calculated from the aging parameters in the 'Item. Connect Warehouse' (MMS002) record.

    • Priority

The value that is proposed is controlled by the order type. The priority that you select here is copied to the new manufacturing order.

  9. On the F panel, you can select how many of these documents typically is printed out:

    • Number of put-away cards – number of cards per product and manufacturing order
    • Number of labor tickets – number of labor tickets per respective operation
Note: The number of labor tickets is multiplied by the labor ticket multiplier for the respective operation. This means that the number of labor tickets per operation can be controlled individually.
    • Routing cards – number of cards per manufacturing order
    • Number of material requisitions - number of cards per material requisition
Note: Material requisitions are created exclusively for material that has been taken out with order-initiated selection processes.
    • Number of shop traveler cards – number of cards per manufacturing order
    • Number of pick lists – number of lists per manufacturing order
    • Number of design documents – number of documents per product and manufacturing order.
  10. Specify the schedule number.

The field indicates the schedule number for the manufacturing order in a planning group.

  11. Press Enter. The directly created manufacturing order is now prepared.
