Capacity per Work Center/Day

Capacity per work center/day is described for capacity per day in the following three ways:

  • Normal capacity per day (NC, see below)
  • General capacity per day (GC, see below)
  • Actual capacity per day (AC, see below).

NC is calculated from these fields affecting capacity as specified per work center:

  • Number of units (U)
  • Number of shifts (S)
  • Capacity per unit (C)
  • Utilization rate (Z).

Unit refers to the person or machine identified by the specified capacity type for each work center. NC is calculated according to these formula:

NC = Z / 100 * U * S * C.

GC is calculated from NC and the value specified in field General Capacity for every calendar day in the system calendar (G). For more information see program ‘System Calendar. Open’ (CRS900)900) GC is calculated according to the following formula:

GC = G / 100 * NC or G / 100 * Z / 100 * U * S * C.

AC is calculated from NC and the specified values in field Actual Capacity (A) per calendar day in program Work with Capacity - Work Center (PDS015). AC is calculated according to the following formula:

AC = A / 100 * NC or A / 100 * Z / 100 * U * S * C.

Actual capacity can be adjusted in the program by changing fields:

  • Number of unit (U1)
  • Number of shifts (S1)
  • Capacity deviation per unit and day (CD)

In this case the adjusted actual capacity (AC1) is calculated according to the following formula:

AC1 = A / 100 * Z / 100 * U1 * S1 * (C +/- CD).

By specifying 0 for A or leaving it blank, G will be used by the system calendar, that is AC = GC. If GC is to be zero then A = 999 must be specified.

Description

Actual capacity per day (AC) is used to calculate lead times in the product structures of manufactured items (products), planned orders, and manufacturing orders.

AC also provides the basis for calculating load from planned orders and manufacturing orders, either per day or totaled per period and work center, department or foreman area.
