Register Quality Tests Against a Grower Agreement

This document explains the process by which the Quality Management System (QMS) based Quality Inspection (QI) specifications can be associated with Grower Agreements to ensure that all required tests are executed during the growing period at the area of origin, and connected with the agreement line.

Outcome

All required QI requests are associated with a Grower Agreement based on the setup on the agreement line.

Main Programs

  • 'Company. Connect Division' (MNS100)
  • 'QI Request. Open' (QMS300)
  • 'Specification. Open' (QMS200)
  • 'Purchase Agreement. Open' (PPS100)
  • 'Purchase Agreement. Open Lines' (PPS101)
  • 'Purchase Agreement. Create QI Request' (QMS290)

Restrictions

QI tests for Grower Agreements are connected at agreement line only and are not inherited by the purchase order or the item lot. There is no impact to or connections with future lots received on purchase lines connected to agreement lines.

Note:

We recommend receiving purchased goods only by using the 'Direct put-away' method for items configured with Location characteristics set to 1-'Bulk', which are used in a grower contract process. This recommendation applies regardless of QMS being activated or not.

The reason for this recommendation is that changing the lot number to a static '9999999999-99' at any point in the process can lead to potential issues in charge calculation and subsequent update of the self-billing status.

Before you start

Settings required for QMS usage

  • Parameter 409 'Grower Contract Management' is selected on the K panel of (MNS100).

  • Parameter 407 'Quality Management' is set to QMS.

  • Agreement is of type Grower Agreement.

  • Agreement line is created. For Grower Agreements this is an item number based agreement line for the required crop or livestock.

  • QI test specifications required for the Grower Agreement are defined by these settings:

    • Flagging the specification as 'Grower agrmt' on the E panel of (QMS200)

    • Connecting the specification to the item of the agreement line, or the item’s quality group

  • We recommend creating the QI specifications with meaningful names to easily identify the grower and regions to which they are applicable.

  • The facility where to connect the QMS request is entered on the E panel of (PPS100).

Follow these steps

Implement QMS functionality for Grower Agreements

  1. Attach one or more QI tests to agreement line:

    • Launch (PPS100) and navigate to (PPS101).
    • Highlight agreement line that QI test is to be attached to and select related option 14 (Create QI request).
    • In (QMS290), the QI specifications available to the agreement line are listed and available for selection and connection. Prerequisite step 5 describes what setup is required against the QI specification to force its display in this program.
    • Highlight the required QI specification and choose related option 11 (Create QI request).
    • In (QMS300), use sorting order 5 to manage QI requests of type 3-Agreement.
    • Navigate through the remaining panels to view and amend the request information as required.
  2. View existing QI specifications on agreement line:

    • Launch (PPS100) and navigate to (PPS101).
    • Highlight agreement line that QI test is to be attached to and select related option 15 (QI request).
    • Select related option 15 (QI request) against agreement line for which quality inspection test is to be displayed.
    • (QMS300) is displayed listing QI requests connected to the agreement.
  3. Delete agreement lines with QI specifications.

On attempted deletion of a Purchase Agreement line with attached QI specifications a warning is displayed advising that the QI requests and test results attached will be deleted. This can either be accepted or rejected. If rejected, the agreement line will not be deleted.
