Hold and Release Held Manufacturing Order
This document explains how you can temporarily stop almost all of the transactions on a manufacturing order (MO). The document also explains how you release the order after it has been held.
Outcome
All open operations on the MO have been put on hold, which means that, with the exception of reporting receipt of goods, it is not possible to report transactions on the MO.
You have selected whether the held MO should be displayed in the display load and dispatch list programs.
For the long-term held MO, the work center load and material requirements have been removed from the work center schedule and material plan .
The second digit in the status of a short-term held MO is set to 5. On a long-term held MO it is set to 6. For example, if the original status was 20, the short-term held MO has status 25, the long-term held MO 26.
When you release a held MO, you have to replan it in 'Manufact Order. Reschedule' (PMS010). When this in done, the original MO status is restored and the material plan with all material requirements and loads is updated.
The information is stored together with information about the MO's header in the MWOHED file.
The need for holding a manufacturing order for the short or long term can occur when, for example, a machine breaks down or there is a material shortage or problems with material quality.
Before you start
