Set Basic Parameters for Quick Entry of Work Requests

This document explains how you set up the basic parameters used when quick entry of work requests is used.

Use this instruction when you want to control what fields are to be displayed and possible to edit during work request entry.

Outcome

Only the fields that you have specified will be displayed when 'Work Request. Quick Entry' (MOS185) is used for work request entry. A series of values can be automatically suggested for easier specification. Examples of these are the site, the service and the person responsible for the request.

Before you start

The starting conditions listed in Generate Interval-Based Work Requests - Quick Entry should be met.

Follow these steps

  1. Start (MOS185/P).

  2. Specify a plant and service, if required.

  3. Specify whether a requestor should be suggested and whether an extra confirmation should be required.

  4. Specify against what type of service the browse function should work.

  5. Specify whether it should be possible to specify serial numbers, whether installed equipment should be displayed and whether error codes should be used.

  6. Specify which fields to display on the E panel, whether they are editable, and whether or not they are mandatory. Press Enter to finish.

Parameters to set

Program ID/Panel Field The field indicates …
(MOS185/P) Registration number/site … the identity of the site for which work requests are created. If identity is specified here, it is used as the default for all new work requests created in (MOS185). If an identity is not specified here, a site must be specified for each new work request.
(MOS185/P) Service

… a default service and structure type to be proposed on all new work requests.

You can select a different service during entry, even if one is suggested by default.

(MOS185/P) Description … a short description of the request. This will default from the service in (MOS300) if the field is left blank and a transaction reason is specified.
(MOS185/P) Propose requestor

… whether the current user should be proposed as requestor for the work request.

The valid alternatives are:

0 = No

1 = Yes

(MOS185/P) Confirm with Enter … whether a second confirmation should be required before the work request is created.

The valid alternatives are:

0 = No

1 = Yes

(MOS185/P) Display serial number

… whether it should be possible to specify a serial number during work request entry.

The valid alternatives are:

0 = No

1 = Yes

If 1 is selected, it will be possible to specify a serialized item during work request entry.

(MOS185/P) Check duplication orders

… whether a verification should be made to ensure that no work order or work request exists in a status less than 90 based on the same service.

The valid alternatives are:

0 = No

1 = Yes

If 1 is selected, and there is a work order or work request, a warning message is displayed.

(MOS185/P) Manual description input … whether the description should be retrieved from the service.

The parameter is only valid when service category is 5-'Blank product'.

The valid alternatives are:

0 = Yes

1 = No

(MOS185/P) Service category

… the type of service that should be proposed when the browse function is used.

The valid alternatives are:

1 = Services according to item number

2 = Services according to function

The valid alternatives are:

0 = No

1 = Yes, with failure class
