Connect Model Individuals and Objects to a Maintenance Agreement to Limit the Agreement Validity

This document explains how you connect one or more model individuals, that is machines with registration numbers, to a maintenance agreement. It is also possible to connect equipment and components without a registration number to an agreement.

You do this when you wish to limit the validity of an agreement to certain objects. This is important for example when you have defined a maintenance agreement where the pricing or limitation is based on the meter reading of the maintenance object.

Outcome

Certain objects are connected to a maintenance agreement limiting the agreement validity.

The table with information about model individuals, ACUAGR is updated.

The table with information about objects connected to the agreement, ACUAGT, is updated.

If the check box 'Chk agr mod ind' or 'Chk agr object' is selected in 'Maint Agrmnt. Open' (COS410) and one or more model individuals or objects are connected to an agreement, it is only possible to connect maintenance customer orders with these objects to the agreement.

Before you start

Define a maintenance agreement in 'Maint Agrmnt. Open' (COS410).
Define a model individual in 'Model/Site Individual. Open' (MOS250).
If meters are used, define the meters in 'Meter. Open' (MMS051).

Follow these steps

Follow these steps to connect model individuals:

Start 'Maint Agrmnt. Open' (COS410/B).
Select an appropriate sorting order to identify the correct agreement.
The recommended alternatives are 1- 'Agreement' or 2- 'Agreement type'.
On the B panel, select the agreement to which you wish to connect a model individual and select option 13='Model Individual/Agreement' to display 'Maintenance Agreement. Connect Model Individual' (COS413).
On the B panel, specify the 'Registration number' of the object you wish to connect to the agreement and, if applicable, the 'Meter' to be used. Select 'New record' to display the E panel.
The ‘From' and ‘To’ dates can be used to limit when the object is included.
The ‘Meter’ and ‘Range’ fields can be used to limit when the object is included. Specify 'Range' values if the object is only included between specific meter values. If several meters have limitations, several records are required for the same registration number in this table.
On the E panel, press Enter to finish.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have connected all model individuals in question to the maintenance agreement.

Follow these steps to connect objects:

Start (COS410/B).
Select an appropriate sorting order to identify the correct agreement.
The recommended alternatives are 1- 'Agreement' or 2- 'Agreement type'.
On the B panel, select the agreement to which you wish to connect a model individual and select option 12='Objects per Agreement' to display 'Maint Agrmt. Connect Objects' (COS412).
On the B panel, specify the 'Product', 'Lot/Serial number' and 'Start date' of the object you wish to connect to the agreement. Select 'New record' to display the E panel.
The 'Meter limitation' fields can be used to limit when the object is valid. The planning meters from 'Item. Open' (MMS001/J) is retrieved automatically. Enter 'Range' values if the object is only included between specific meter values.
On the E panel, press Enter to finish.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have connected all model individuals in question to the maintenance agreement.

Note: If the check box 'Chk agr mod ind' is selected in (COS410), installed components in the as-built structure, as defined in 'As-built Structure. Open' (MOS256) will also be covered by this agreement, unless they have a separate agreement defined in 'Equipment/Serialized Item. Open' (MMS240) or have specific limitations in (COS412).

If the check box 'Chk agr mod ind' or ‘Chk agr object’ is selected in (COS410), and if the date and meter limitation fields are used in (COS412) and (COS413), a check will be made at MCO order creation to see if the current meter readings for the object is within the range. If not, a stop message is displayed to say that it is no longer included in the agreement. When an MCO or lines are automatically created during release of planned WOs, the check program (MOS914) displays an 'H' warning message and sets the status to '00'. Note that it is the same 'H' message if the agreement is missing or not found.
