Add Employees to Work Order

This procedure should be used to link employees to a work order.

Note: Employees are actually linked to work orders via the operation and operation elements.

The result will be an employee linked to a work order operation.

Before you start

Before the procedure can begin, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • Operations must exist in (MOS101)
  • User must exist in (CRS530).

Follow these steps

Follow these steps to add employees to work order operations, which in turn are linked to work orders.

This is useful when planning work and allocating people. M3 will also show who should do work against who is actually doing it. The procedure is divided into sections, depending on whether skills already exist.

For both procedures:

  1. From 'Work Schedule. Open Toolbox' (MOS195), highlight the operation and select option ‘Op elements (skills/tools/permits)’ to display (MOS104).

  2. Select panel E.

Adding employees where skills already exist:

  1. Highlight the skill and select Open.

  2. Enter the employee number and press Enter to save.

Adding employees where skills do not exist:

  1. Enter an element number in the appropriate field (Eno). It is usually a number such as 1…2, 10…20, and so on.

  2. For skills, enter 1 or 2 in Element Type.

  3. Enter the skill in Operation Element Identity (Op Element ID).

  4. Click New.

  5. Enter the Employee No.

  6. The operational description will default from the work center but may be changed.
