Time Zone Management in MAI

Date and time can be displayed in different ways in the Maintenance module. You may want to see date and time based on the time zone where you are located, and not based on the warehouse on the maintenance order.

This option eliminates the need for manual conversion at different stages in the maintenance process.

The dates and times are displayed in selected time zone but are converted back to &SYS time before validations are made against related data and before the tables are updated.

A list of programs where the time zone can be selected is provided in this document.

Settings

If and how time should be converted is determined in these three ways:

  • With a setting in the field group in 'Field Group. Display Permitted Fields' (CRS109).
  • With a time zone setting on the F13 settings panel.
  • By the time zone set on the default warehouse.

The time zone field can either be specified with a time zone defined in 'Time Zone. Open' (DRS045), or as *USER. If the latter is used, the time zone is retrieved from these records and in this order:

  1. The user per company and division in 'User. Access per Company & Division' (MNS151).
  2. The general user record in 'User. Open' (MNS150).
  3. 'Company. Connect Division' (MNS100).

If the field is left blank, the time zone is retrieved from the place of load for the warehouse. A complete list is detailed in Functionality of the F13 settings.

Functionality of (CRS109)

The time zone setting is determined by the settings in 'Field Group. Display Permitted Fields' (CRS109) for these programs:

  • 'Maintenance CO. Open Toolbox' (COS280)
  • 'Maintenance CO Line. Open Toolbox' (COS281)
  • 'Maint CO Totals. Open Toolbox' (COS282)
  • 'Service Error Report. Open' (MOS057). This is a subfile. Detailed panel is determined by the F13 setting.
  • 'Maint Quotation. Open Information' (COS115)

Time zone conversion is activated by selecting the T Z conversion check box on (CRS109/E).

Functionality of the F13 settings

These programs allow you to select time zone using the F13 settings. *USER or a time zone code can be specified. If nothing is specified, the time zone is displayed according to the time zone set on the default warehouse.

  • 'Maintenance Customer Orders. Open Line' (COS101). MCO line warehouse if nothing else is selected.
  • 'Maint CO. Quick Entry' (COS130). Main facility warehouse if nothing else is selected.
  • 'MCO. Report Expenses' (COS150). WO warehouse time zone if nothing else is selected. MCO line if there is no work order.
  • 'Work Order. Enter' (MOS001). Item and facility main warehouse (M9REWH) time zone if nothing else is selected.
  • 'Service Error Report. Open' (MOS057). WO warehouse time zone. MCO line if there is no work order.

  • 'Work Schedule. Open Toolbox' (MOS195). Work order warehouse if nothing else is selected.
  • 'Work Request. Open Toolbox' (MOS197). Work request warehouse if nothing else is selected.
  • 'Maintenance Scheduling Board. Open' (MOS199). F13 accepts a time zone, not *USER. WOP or WO time zone if nothing is selected on F13.
  • 'Model/Site Individual. Open Op History' (MOS270). System time &SYS used if nothing else is selected.
  • 'Model/Site Individual. Open Op Cycle Readings' (MOS271). System time &SYS used if nothing else is selected.
  • 'Equipment/Ser Item. Open Meter Reading' (MMS241). System time &SYS used if nothing else is selected.

  • 'WO Operation. Reschedule' (MOS020). Work order warehouse time zone is used.

API programs

  • MOS057MI (Service Error Report)
  • MOS160MI (Manual Meter Reporting)
