Report Work Start

This instruction explains how to report that work is started on an operation within M3 Maintenance. This is not always a requirement to continue the work order process.

Use this instruction when you need to start the work order operations that use an order type in which parameter 410 is set in 'Work Order Type. Open' (MOS120).

Outcome

The operation is started, the actual start date on the work order is updated and registration of time spent on the operation is started.

Work can be started on the operation.

The status of the operation is updated to 60.

Before you start

  • The starting conditions listed in Starting Work Order Operations should be met.
  • Parameter 410 in 'Work Order Type. Open' (MOS120) should be activated.
  • Work order operations must exist in 'Work Order. Open Line' (MOS101).
  • All users must be registered in 'User. Connect Authority' (CRS545). Authorization to approve transactions and make changes to reported transactions can also be set.
  • Work hours definition must be defined in 'Work Hour Definition. Open' (CRS505). An error message regarding reporting number will be displayed if the work hours do not exist or are not valid.
  • A general work schedule should exist in 'Work Schedule. Open' (CRS515). The work schedule specifies which work hour definitions apply, day by day for a specific period (i.e., a year). The work schedule is used as a template for creating a calendar for each person that reports operation time.
  • Data collection should be defined in 'Settings - WO Operation Reporting' (MOS991) or 'Settings - Operation Reporting/Facility' (MOS990).

Follow These Steps

  1. Start 'WO Operation. Report Work Start' (MOS820/E).

The program can be started from a menu or from 'Work Schedule. Open Toolbox' (MOS195) using option 'Start Operation'.

  2. Enter at least one card number and an optional work group.

A maximum of five card numbers can be entered if multiple people are starting the operation.

Clock date is the date the operation actually started.

Clock time is the time the operation actually started.

  3. Press Enter to start the operation.
