Error Code
Error codes (MOS572) define the major failures that can happen against a piece of equipment.
For example, major failures against a simple conveyor can be:
- Total failure to transfer
- Running too slowing
- Running too quickly
- Failure to contain product
The failure is given a code followed by a description.
Description
Error codes are linked to equipment but are then sub-divided into the main causes of failure. These failures are described further in the section on Error Code 2.
Error codes form part of the diagnostics section of M3 Maintenance and are used as part of maintenance philosophies such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
