Event Type
Event types (MOS320) are used to collate services under the same work order number, if released at the same time from 'Work Request. Open' (MOS170). Event types are specified in 'Service. Open' (MOS300).
Description
To release planned work orders proposals together in (MOS170), select view 12 and F17 to list only proposals of the same type. Option F16 can then be used to release them all together.
If several simple checks exist as work order proposals and they all have the same event type, they will all be collated under the same work order number but with different operation numbers.
If released separately, they will be collated under different work order numbers. Clearly this operation will reduce the amount of paperwork and feedback required (multiple operations under the same work order can be reported in a fast entry panel).
Event types are likely to be defined for inspections such as lubrication, visual checks, condition checks and so on, where large numbers of short duration jobs exist.
An event type for all the lubrication jobs within factory ‘A’ may be given the event ‘A LUBE’. If, however, factory A is too large then the lubrication inspections should be assigned to a greater number of event types for factory A. In this case they may be set up as ‘A1 LUBE’, ‘A2 LUBE’ and so on.
