Register Installed Components in an As-built Configuration
This document explains how you register the components that are installed in an as-built configuration.
Use this instruction when you have defined the model for a configuration and created the model individual and wish to register which components are installed.
Outcome
The configuration is updated with the installed components and a list with this information is created.
The information about the configuration list with installed components is saved in table MROICL.
The information is:
- Displayed in 'As-Built Structure. Display Indented' (MOS252)
- Displayed in 'Work Order. Display Related Work Orders' (MOS110)
- Used when components are installed and removed in 'As-Built Structure. Update Removal/Inst' (MOS125)
- Used in 'Work Request. Open' (MOS170)
- Used in 'Model/Site Individual. Open' (MOS250)
- Used when complaints are registered in 'Complaint. Open' (MOS500).
Before you start
- The starting conditions listed in Creating an As-built Configuration to Define what Components are Installed in a Model Individual must be met.
- A model individual must be created in 'Model/Site Individual. Open' (MOS250).
- A serialized item must be registered in 'Equipment/Serialized Item. Open' (MMS240).
Follow these steps
-
Start 'Model/Site Individual. Open' (MOS250/B).
-
Select the model for which to register installed components and select option 15='As-built Structure' to display 'As-Built Structure. Open' (MOS256/B).
A list with all available positions in the configuration should be displayed.
-
Select a suitable question type.
The recommended alternative is 1-'Configuration position'.
-
Select a configuration position and select option 2='Change' to display the E panel.
Please note that any positions that are filled with individual configurations should be completed first. These sub-configurations must be completed before they are installed.
-
Select an item number to install in the position.
-
Select the serial number of the component you wish to install. Press Enter.
If the serial number does not already exist, you can browse twice to open (MMS240) and register the record.
-
Select an item/serial number code, specify whether the position has a history and specify whether there is uncertainty regarding the serial number. Press Enter to finish.
The function can be used to send an alert to check the serial number when the part is removed from the configuration. This can be done when for example two identical parts have been installed in different positions, and there is uncertainty regarding what part was installed in what position.
-
Repeat steps 4 to 7 to install parts in all positions in the configuration.
-
Press F18='Create As-built Structure'.
The structure will remain at status 80. Press F14 to make it serviceable.
