Estimate Work Request Job Content - Permits

This document explains how you link a permit to a work request operation. The instruction also describes how to add additional permit lines.

Use this instruction when you want to link safety instructions to a work request.

Outcome

The operation or operations that need to be prepared are linked to instructions that indicate what safety measures need to be taken before work begins.

The information is used to properly prepare the equipment before work begins.

The information is stored in the following files:

  • Work request operation element (MMPOPS)
  • Routing operation activity permits (MMPOPL)

Before you start

  • The starting conditions listed in Estimating Job Content must be met.
  • Permits should be defined in 'Permit. Open' (PDS046).
  • Isolation points can be defined in 'Isolation Point. Open' (PDS049).
  • Lock IDs can be predefined in 'Lock ID. Open' (PDS048).

Follow these steps

Link Permit to Work Request Operation

  1. Start 'Work Request Operation. Open Op Element' (MOS172/B1).

This panel can be reached in the following ways:

    • From 'Work Request. Open' (MOS170), highlight the work order request and choose option 'Materials and operations' to display (MOS171). Highlight the operation to which the permit will be attached and choose option 'Op elements' to display (MOS172).
    • From 'Work Request. Open Toolbox' (MOS197), highlight the work order request and choose option 'Materials and operations' to display (MOS171). Highlight the operation to which the permit will be attached and choose option 'Op element' to display (MOS172).
  2. Set panel sequence E and sorting order 1.

  3. Enter the element number and element type 6 for permits.

  4. Enter the permit. Select Create to display the E panel. Press Enter to finish.

Add Additional Permit Lines

The individual steps to be taken for each permit may be described as indicated here.

  1. In 'Work Request Operation. Open Op Element' (MOS172/B), select option Permits to display 'Work Request Operation. Connect Permit' (MOS179).

This option can only be used for element type 6.

  2. Enter a sequence number and select Create to display the E panel.

  3. Enter an isolation point and a lock identity.

The lock identity indicates which lock or key is used to prevent the machine from being started while work is being performed.

Additional isolation points may be added if needed.

  4. Enter a name and a description, if applicable. Press Enter to finish.
