Define a Work Schedule View

This document explains how you define a work schedule view to be used for the work schedule in M3 Maintenance.

Work schedule views place high demands on system resources. For optimal system performance, it is recommended that you do not create more work schedule views than you need and only assign status 20 (Active) to the views that are actually used.

Outcome

A work schedule view is defined for the work schedule for work requests in 'Work Request. Open Toolbox' (MOS197) or for work orders in 'Work Schedule. Open Toolbox'(MOS195).

The view determines which operations or operation elements are selected and displayed when making searches in the work schedule in (MOS195) or (MOS197), as well as how they are displayed.

In order to use the work schedule view, you need to define an sorting order for the work schedule. While doing so, you specify the work schedule view field as one of the key fields in the sorting option. It is recommended that you specify the view as the first key field.

Sorting orders are defined in 'Sorting order. Open' (CRS022).

Once this is done, the work schedule view is ready to be used. Whenever you start the work schedule in (MOS195) or (MOS197), you select the sorting order and then enter the work schedule view ID.

The work schedule view is saved in the MMOWSV table.

Before you start

If a selection table is used, this selection table must be defined for the (MMOWSO) table in 'General Selection Table. Open' (CRS023).

Follow these steps

Start 'Work Schedule View. Open' (MOS152).
Enter an ID for the work schedule view. Select Create.
On panel E, enter a name and description for the work schedule view.
Enter a status for the work schedule view.

Note: The regeneration status is set automatically.
Specify the facilities for which the work schedule will apply.
Select one of the following alternatives:
- If the work schedule view will be used for work orders in (MOS195), select the 'Include work orders' check box.
- If the work schedule view will be used for work requests in (MOS197), select the 'Include work requests' check box.
Specify a selection table with criteria that the operations must meet in order to be displayed in the work schedule, if applicable.
If you want the operations to be displayed on all valid site structure levels, select the 'Include for each site structure level' check box.
If you want each operation element in an operation to be displayed, select the 'Include for each operation element' check box. Click Enter.

Parameters to set


Program ID/Panel	Field	The field indicates …
(MOS152/E)	Status	… the status of the work schedule view. Valid alternatives 10=Inactive 20=Active 30=Blocked/expired.
(MOS152/E)	Regeneration status	… the progress of the regeneration/deletion of the work schedule view. Valid alternatives 32=Marked for regeneration 34=Marked for deletion 42=Regeneration in progress 44=Deletion in progress 50=Regeneration complete. The work schedule view receives status 32 if it is changed in (MOS152) or if the entries of the selection table are changed. When exiting the program, the status is changed to 42 and once the launched batch job is finished the status is set to 50 once again. Note: Whenever a work request, work order, or operation is changed, the work schedule view is updated specifically for that work request or work order. The entire view is not regenerated and the status is therefore not changed.
(MOS152/E)	Selection table	… a selection table with criteria that the operations must meet to be displayed in the work schedule view. For example, you can specify a selection table that says that only operations for work centers A01 to C01 should be displayed. Selection criteria can be defined for each work order/work request header, operation, or operation element. Only operations that meet all the selection criteria will be displayed.
(MOS152/E)	Include for each site structure level	… if the operation should appear at the site structure level where it will be performed as well as on all site structure levels above. This means that for any given site structure level (for example the entire site, a production line, or a building), all operations belonging to that level and below will be displayed. This field can be used together with the 'Include for each operation element' check box, for example to find all argon welding jobs (skill as operation element) in a specific building (structure level). Example An operation is done on equipment A100, installed in POS100, which is a part of POS10 in SITE1. The operation will be displayed three times in the work schedule: (SITE1/POS10, SITE1/POS100, and SITE1/A100).
(MOS152/E)	Include for each operation element	… the operation should be displayed once for each operation element (as opposed to once for per operation). This is useful if you want to list the work schedule on columns that are parts of the operation element, for example employees, skills and tool numbers. If you want to make searches in the work schedule on operation element fields, this check box must be activated. Note: If this check box is selected, operations with no operation elements will not be displayed in the work schedule at all.
