Update Maintenance Statistics Initially

This instruction explains how you can minimize performance problems the first time you update the statistics. This is useful when you have imported large quantities of data from a previous system.

The instruction explains how you create the statistics in three smaller steps with different parameter settings and selections.

Outcome

Statistical information is created for selected work orders.

The information can be viewed and printed for further analysis.

Before you start

The starting conditions listed in Monitoring Maintenance Statistics should be met.

Follow These Steps

Generate Statistics Stage 1

  1. Start 'Settings - Maintenance Statistics' (MCS390).

  2. Set parameter 6 Create average statistics to 0.

  3. Set parameter 15 Create cumulative statistics to 0.

  4. Set parameter 18 Start period for maintenance statistics regeneration to 0000. Exit (MCS390).

  5. Start 'Maint Stats. Create' (MCS300).

  6. Run the program without any selections.

The following files are affected in stage 1:

  • Work order header statistics (MBCHED)
  • Work order operation statistics (MBCOPE)
  • Work order material statistics (MBCMAT)
  • Work order work center statistics (MBCWCT)

Generate Statistics Stage 2

  1. Start 'Settings - Maintenance Statistics' (MCS390).

  2. Set parameter 15 Create cumulative statistics to 2.

  3. Set parameter 18 Start period for maintenance statistics regeneration to 0000. Exit (MCS390).

  4. Start 'Maint Stats. Create' (MCS300).

  5. Run the program with selection on work order number 9999999 to 9999999.

The following files are updated in stage 2:

  • Maintenance cost per period (MBCFGL)
  • Maintenance inquiry (MMCINQ)
  • Work order operation statistics – per period (MBCOPA)
  • Work order material statistics – per period (MBCMAA)
  • Work order header statistics – per period (MBCHEA)

Generate Statistics Stage 3

  1. Start 'Settings - Maintenance Statistics' (MCS390).

  2. Set parameter 15 Create cumulative statistics to 1. Exit (MCS390).

    In the future, 'Maint Stats. Create' (MCS300) should be run without any selections.
