Application Messages in Maintenance
This document explains the purpose and use of application messages together with a list of valid application messages for the M3 Maintenance Management application.
Purpose
Application messages are used to notify a person that an incident has occurred affecting their area. For example:
- The person responsible for a work order may be notified automatically when the work order has started.
- The maintenance planner may be notified automatically when a sale of a fixed asset has taken place.
By using application messages, you automate the work. If several persons are involved in a work flow, application messages help to facilitate and fasten up the communication between these persons.
Description
When activated, an application message is created and displayed for the responsible person in 'Application Message. Open' (CRS420) every time the incident in question happens.
Depending on the settings made, the message may also be sent to the person by e-mail.
Application messages are activated in and through 'Settings – Application messages' (CRS424).
