Set WO Status to Indicate that Estimate is Complete and Confirm Estimate

This document explains how you indicate that you have estimated the job content of a work order. This activity is normally performed by the person responsible for the estimate.

The document also explains how you confirm the estimate. This activity is normally performed by a manager.

Outcome

  • If the work order is held, the work order status is initially raised to Q1 to indicate that the WO is fully estimated. If the work order is not held, action message Q1 is generated instead.
  • If the work order is held, the work order status is raised to Q2 to indicate that the estimated job content is confirmed. If the work order is not held, action message Q2 is generated instead.

Uses

  • Work order status/action message Q1 indicates that a manager should review the estimated WO content.
  • Work order status/action message Q2 indicates that it is time for customer support to generate maintenance customer order (MCO) quotations against the work order.

How the System Is Affected

The table Work order header (MMOHED) is updated.

Before you start

  • A work order that is connected to a maintenance customer order must exist in 'Work Order. Open' (MOS100).
  • The work order job content should be estimated with operations and materials.

Follow These Steps

Set Estimate as Complete

  1. Start 'Work Order. Open' (MOS100/B).

  2. Select an sorting order to display the list of work orders.

  3. Highlight the work order and select option 'Estimate complete'.

The work order status is raised to Q1, or action message Q1 is generated for the work order.

Set Estimate as Confirmed

  1. Start 'Work Order. Open' (MOS100/B).

  2. Select an sorting order to display the list of work orders.

It is a good idea to select on work order status or action message to display only work orders to be confirmed.

  3. Highlight the work order and select option 'Estimate confirmed'.

The work order status is raised to Q2 or action message Q2 is generated for the work order, which indicates that it will not be further updated and that a quotation can be generated.
