Defining Basic Service Revision Information
This document explains how you define basic service revision information. This includes information about what products the job is performed on, how the job is to be scheduled and planned, and so on.
The document also explains how you add documents, activity lists, meters and limits, and multiple products to a service revision.
Outcome
Basic service revision data is defined and operations and materials can be linked to the service revision header.
For further information about how the system is affected, refer to the documents listed under the See Also section.
Before you start
The starting conditions listed in Managing Service Revisions must be met.
Follow These Steps
-
Define Service Header
Define service revisions in 'Service Revision. Open' (ECS300). When you define a service, you specify the validity dates for the service, how often it is supposed to be performed and where it is to be performed.
When you define the service, you also have the opportunity to define how the service should be planned, how comprehensive the service is, what meters should be used to trigger the service, and so on.
You can also specify warranties and grouping criteria for each service revision.
-
Add Documents to Service
Add any relevant documents to the service revision. Such information may include, for example, drawings and task instructions. Add documents in 'Service Revision. Connect Documents' (ECS303).
-
Add Activity List to Service
Add an activity list to the service revision. The activity list normally contains activities that need to be performed before the revision is transferred to the production environment. These activities are normally different approvals. Add activity lists in 'Service Revision. Connect Activity' (ECS333).
-
Add Meters to Service
Use this activity to add additional meters to service revisions. These meters will determine when the service is triggered. It is possible to add different kinds of meters to a service revision, such as:
- Competing meters where the first or last achieved meter value triggers the service
- Time-phased meters that allow the frequency of a service to change over time
- Fixed date meters that trigger the service on specific days or dates
- Absolute meters that trigger the service based on the condition of the maintenance object rather than on any form of time.
Add meters to service revisions in 'Service Revision. Connect Maint Limits' (ECS311).
-
Add Multiple Products to Service
Add multiple products or equipment to one service. This function allows you to connect several item or equipment numbers or combinations of item/equipment and serial numbers to the service revision. When the revision is transferred to the production environment, records will be created in (MOS300) for all records in the effectivity list.
Connect multiple products in 'Service Revision. Connect Effectivity' (ECS314).
