Check Skills Availability for a Work Request

This document explains how to ensure that an employee with the required skill to perform a job is available when the job is planned to start.

Use this instruction when you need to know that the required skill is available before you release the work request.

Outcome

You will know whether an employee with the required skill is available to perform the job when it is planned to start.

This information gives you the opportunity to reschedule the job if the appropriate employee is not available, or to allocate another employee to the job.

Before you start

  • The starting conditions listed in Performing Maintenance Availability Checks for Work Order Requests must be met.
  • The operation in 'Work Request. Open Line' (MOS171) must have work or time estimated against it.
  • The operation must have a skill (operation element type 1 or 2) linked to it with the employee number entered for it in 'Work Request Operation. Open Op Element' (MOS172).
  • The employee allocation parameters must be defined in (MOS992).

Follow these steps

Check load/skill

  1. Start 'Load. Display Gantt Chart/Employee' (CPS155/B).

  2. Select sorting order 5 or 6. Sorting order 5 displays qualification.

When a skill is entered, the screen will display work orders and work order requests with the selected skill and the employee allocated to the job. Blocks will indicate employee load.

Sorting order 6 displays load per employee.

The screen will display work orders and work order requests allocated to the employee. The details that are displayed include work order or work order request number, operation number, start date and time, status etc. Blocks will indicate employee load.

    Options

The following options are available in (CPS155):

    • Option 2=Change

Option 2 will display 'WO Operation. Open Operation Element' (MOS104) for work orders and 'Work Request Operation. Open Op Element' (MOS172) for work requests.

    • Option 11=Reschedule Order

Option 11 will display 'Work Request. Open' (MOS170) for work requests and 'Work Order. Reschedule (MOS010) for work orders. It is possible set a new date on the job here to avoid overload on an employee.

    • Option 12=Reschedule Order Line

Option 12 will display 'Planned Work Order. Open' (MOS178) for work requests and 'WO Operation. Reschedule' (MOS020) for work orders. It is possible to set a new date on operations here to avoid overload on an employee.
