Add Skills to a Work Order Operation

This instruction explains how skills are added to work operations. Skills describe the necessary technical competence required to carry out maintenance work.

Outcome

A skill is connected to the operation. Information about skills are stored in the routing operation activity description (MMOOPS) file.

If skills checking is set, you cannot start an operation unless you have the correct skill.

Note: This function can be used if a separate application is installed.

Before you start

The starting conditions listed in Stopping, Delaying and Replanning Work Order Operations must be met.

Follow these steps

  1. Start 'WO Operation. Open Operation Element' (MOS104/B).

The program can be reached either from 'Work Order. Open' (MOS100), option 'Materials and operations' and then option 'Operation element', or from 'Work Schedule. Open Toolbox' (MOS195), option 19='Operation elements'.

  2. Select panel sequence E and sorting order 1.
  3. Specify an element number and an element type.

The element number is a sequence number, for example 001, 002, 003, etc.

The element type must be 1 or 2 for skills. If 1 is selected, then estimated time to complete each operation should be set up at this level. If estimated time should be set up on operation level, then 2 should be selected. This is also the most common way of working.

  4. Specify an employee number and a description of the operation (optional fields).

The employee number can be used to plan work in (CPS155), (CPS160), and (CPS170).

  5. Specify the setup time and the number of persons needed to set up the operation (optional fields).

Setup time is normally defined directly against the operation and not during this step.

  6. Specify the work time and the number of persons needed to carry out the work (optional fields).

These values are normally defined directly against the operation and not the operation element.

  7. Press Enter to finish.
