Prioritize Operations within Work Center
The purpose of this procedure is to prioritize operations within a work center.
Before you start
Before you begin, the work orders must exist in 'Work Order. Open' (MOS100).
Follow these steps
- Select 'Work Schedule. Open Toolbox' (MOS195/B).
- To prioritize on a single level (schedule number), select sorting order 3. To prioritize on two levels (schedule number and schedule sequence), select sorting order 2.
- Specify the priority (sequence) in which the different operations are to be performed. If a schedule number is not specified for an operation, it is assigned number 00. These will then be sequenced before the operations that are assigned a schedule number. See example below.
- Confirm the entries.
- Press F5=Refresh to check that the changes have been made.
Example
The table below represents a simple work center schedule before operations have been prioritized using sorting order 3.
Sched. No. | Start Date | Product | WO |
---|---|---|---|
971122 | B777 | 11 | |
30 | 971129 | C5331 | 21 |
20 | 971129 | B7771-2 | 31 |
10 | 971130 | V231-212 | 33 |
40 | 971130 | B777-1 | 34 |
Once the above prioritization has been performed, the work center schedule displays as below.
Sched. No. | Start Date | Product | WO |
---|---|---|---|
971122 | B777 | 11 | |
10 | 971130 | V231-212 | 33 |
20 | 971129 | B7771-2 | 31 |
30 | 971129 | C5331 | 21 |
40 | 971130 | B777-1 | 34 |
The actual order in which operations are displayed is determined by the sorting order in the view. The above example assumes a view with sorting based on the schedule number.
