Settings in M3 Business Engine

You can use these settings in M3 Business Engine to access the full functionality of the Capacity Planning Workbench.

  • Security roles in Infor OS Portal

You must have the security role, M3CPW-User.

  • Warehouse group in (MMS009)

Select which facilities are handled in CPW. The warehouse group in (MMS009) selects one or more warehouses, and each warehouse is connected to one facility. These facilities are planned in the application.

  • CPW roles in (MNS405)

You can define three CPW roles:

    • CPWVIEWER
      • This role can import and view data.
    • CPWPLANNER
      • This role can take decisions in CPW when the CPW decision functionality is added.
    • CPWADMIN
      • This role can delete the configuration for other users, which is relevant for cleaning up inactive users.
  • CPW roles per user in (MNS410)

You can link the user to the CPWVIEWER role. If you have several CPW roles, the CPW role with the most rights is used.

  • Load. Display Totals (CPS100)

CPW displays capacity and load as (CPS100). Therefore, you must ensure that (CPS100) displays capacity and load for selected work centers and use this to verify that CPW displays the same information. The overdue load is displayed in the current week or in the previous week depending on the setting in (CRS786). You must create the load automatically or manually in (CPS050).

  • APS enabled per facility in (CRS008)

CPW can display capacity and load for facilities with or without APS enabled in (CRS008).

The facilities without APS enabled are planned on work center type 1 level in M3 Business Engine. It is imported and displayed at that level in CPW.

The facilities with APS enabled are planned on work center type 6 level in M3 Business Engine. It is imported at that level in CPW. CPW aggregates load and capacity from work center type 6 to work center type 1. It displays information on the work center type 1 level. The capacity or load is aggregated from work center type 6 to work center type 1. The Included in Work Center on type 6 identifies which work center type 1 its capacity and load is aggregated to.

CPW can import data from multiple facilities. If APS is enabled in some facilities but not in others, CPW imports data as described above and then displays all data on work center type 1 level.

  • Work center definitions in (PDS010)

These are the work center definitions in (PDS010):

    • Planning horizon
The field indicates how many calendar days you must plan the resource in regard to load. CPW can display capacity and load within the planning horizon.
Note: You must have the planning horizon inside the calendar defined in (CRS900); otherwise, the planned manufacturing order does not create a load.
    • Daily load leveling

The field indicates how many workdays in the future capacity and load are planned on the day level.

    • Weekly load leveling

The field indicates how many workdays in the future capacity and load are planned on the week level.

  • Table browser program in (MNS120)

Table MPDCAD must have the browser program (PDS016).

  • Information Browser Category in (CMS010)

CPW requires three information browser categories to be defined:

    • MPDCAD
    • CPW_LOADPEG
      • For CPW_LOADPEG, select Related / Related tables and add MITMAS AS RELATED TABLE with key MMITNO equal to VKPRNO in (CMS011).
    • CPW_LOADSUM
  • Customer List MI in (CMS015)

CPW requires three Customer List MI to be defined:

    • Lst_CPW_LoadCap
    • Lst_CPW_LoadPeg
    • Lst_CPW_LoadSum
