Create Budget Calculation Template
This procedure is used to define the template(s) used for generating budgets automatically. The templates consist of the information that controls how the new budgets are calculated.
Before you start
- Your company must have a well-defined policy for how to handle budgeting.
- Period accounting curves must be defined in ‘Period Accounting Curve. Open’ (CRS450). They are used to automatically allocate values to the selected periods.
Follow these steps
-
Start ‘Budget Calculation Template. Open’ (BUS001/B). Check that the panel sequence is set to E1.
-
Specify the ID of the new template and select option New.
-
On the E panel, enter a name and description for the template, and the number of periods that the budgets created with the template should consist of. Press Enter to start ‘Budget Calc Template. Connect Elements’ (BUS002/B).
-
In (BUS002/B), specify an ID for a budget template element and select option New.
-
On the E panel, enter the percentages with which a budgeted amount and quantity should be adjusted, whether trend adjustment should be performed, the accounting curve to be used and the accounting identities 1 to 7 to be used. Press Enter to start ‘Budg Calc Template. Connect Element Lines’ (BUS003/B).
-
In (BUS003/B), specify the range of accounting strings to connect to the element. You do this by entering a line number, selecting option New and then specifying the range of accounting strings on the E panel. If necessary, you can create several lines; that is, several ranges for the same element. Press Enter and F3.
-
Return to step 4 if you want to create more elements for the budget template. Otherwise, press F3.
