Define Start Day Intervals

This document explains how to define start day intervals.

Outcome

Start day intervals are defined in 'Start Day Interval. Open' (CMS071) and 'Interval Days. Open' (CMS072).

The interval rule is set up in (CMS071) and the details for the interval are set up in (CMS072).

Start day intervals can be used in 'Cash Discount Term. Open' (CRS077), 'Payment Term. Open' (CRS075), and on 'Split due date' in 'Payment Term . Open Details' (CRS074) when calculating due date and cash discount dates.

Define start day intervals

Start day intervals can be used for both payment terms and cash discount terms.

This is the start day range to be used when calculating the due date or the cash discount dates. This can be used on payment terms in (CRS075), on cash discount terms in (CRS077), and on split due dates in (CRS074).

The type of interval can be based on these alternatives:.

1 = Month (MMDD)

2 = Day (DD)

If you select alternative 1, the interval for months are set up in (CMS072) with the MMDD (month/day) format. If you select alternative 2, the interval for days are set up in (CMS072) with the DD (Day) format.

Interval for months is set up in format MMDD (month/day). This means that if an invoice date is within a certain month/day interval, the last day in that interval is used as start day when calculating a due date or a cash discount date.

Example: Invoice date is 2022-02-15 (15th of February) and the from month/day intervals are: 0101, 0401, 0701, 1001. The date calculation uses 2022-03-31 (31th of March) as start day.

Interval for days is set up in format DD (Day). This means that if an invoice date is within a certain day interval, the last day in that interval is used as start day when calculating a due date or a cash discount date.

Example: Invoice date is 2022-02-15 and the from day intervals are: 01, 11, 21. The date calculation uses 2022-02-20 as start day.

In (CMS072) for each interval, payment day can be specified for both due date and cash discount dates 1-3. This is optional.

Start day interval is optional to use on payment terms and cash discount terms.

Note: When a start day interval is specified on the payment terms or cash discount terms, start day cannot be used. The start day will then be the end of each interval defined in (CMS072).

When a start day interval is specified on the payment terms or cash discount terms, payment day cannot be used. If a payment day should be used together with an interval, the payment day for payment term and cash discount term has to be entered on each interval in (CMS072).
