Accounting Dimension
An accounting dimension is one of seven parts of an accounting string used in M3.
The accounting dimension functions as a frame for an accounting identity, which can be up to ten characters long. Accounts, cost centers and product groups are examples of accounting identities.
Accounting dimension 1, the first part of the string, is mandatory and always reserved for an account in the general accounting. The other six dimensions can be used as desired for cost/revenue units, depending on the company-specific requirements for accounting and follow-up.
In 'Accounting Dimension. Enter Names' (CRS012), the accounting dimensions are assigned names on the company level, which are later used in panels and reports.
