Create Accounts Allocation in General Ledger
This procedure is used to define allocations between account entries using predefined templates.
This is used for several purposes, such as creating account entries based on previously entered outcome and budget transactions. Also, revenues and costs can be allocated between different accounting identities and accounting dimensions.
Before you start
- FAM function GL11 is defined in 'FAM Function. Open' (CRS405).
- Accounts allocation templates are defined in 'A/C Allocation Template. Open' (GLS070).
- For cross-division allocations, accounting rule MF20 is defined in 'Accounting Rule. Set' (CRS395).
- For cross-division allocations, an allocation target table of type 5 or 6, with the receiving division specified, is defined in 'A/C Allocation Target Table. Open' (GLS062).
Follow these steps
-
Start 'A/C Allocation. Update' (GLS130/E).
-
Select an accounts allocation template, enter the range of accounting periods for which to make account allocations, specify if the allocation base should be based on internal, external, or all transactions, and the accounting date.
-
Select whether to first make a proposal or to update the general ledger immediately. If a proposal is selected, a proposal list is printed.
-
Select report layout 01 and enter a report text (optional) as well as a voucher text. Press Enter.
- If an update was selected, accounting transactions are generated and an accounting journal is printed. Updates can be done more than once for each period. When this is done, only new transactions are included.
