Create Base Table for Allocation
This procedure is used to define the account entries to be retrieved for specific allocations or make up the basis for calculating new tables. These new tables can then be used to allocate budget or actual result transactions.
Before you start
If resource driver rates are to be used as allocation base, these starting conditions must be met:
- Resource drivers are defined in 'Resource Driver. Open' (CAS040)
- Resource driver units are defined in 'Resource Driver. Connect RD Units' (CAS210)
- Rates are defined in 'Resource Driver. Connect RD Rates' (CAS220)
- Rate types are defined in 'Resource Driver Rate Type. Open' (CAS005)
- Cost center accounting is activated in 'Settings – Cost Accounting' (CAS900).
Follow these steps
-
Start 'A/C Allocation Base Table. Open' (GLS060/B).
-
Specify an ID. Click New.
-
On the E-panel, specify a description/name.
-
Select allocation base type, that is, from where the source transactions to be used for the allocation should be retrieved: 1 = General ledger or budget – go to step 8; 2 = Based on resource driver values – go to step 5.
If you select alternative 1, you define for the respective allocation template element whether it should retrieve general ledger or budget values. If you select alternative 2, a base amount is calculated based on the number of units and the rate for the resource driver defined below.
-
If you select alternative 2, specify the resource driver and unit version of the resource driver. Select unit type, that is, which number of resource driver units to use:
- 1 = Actual number
- 2 = Planned (budgeted) number
- 3 = Calculated number.
-
Select which objects should be used as a base for retrieving rates:
- 1 = The From objects
- 2 = The To objects.
-
Select the rate version of the resource driver and a rate type. Press Enter.
-
In 'A/C Allocation Base Table. Open Lines' (GLS061/B), create a line to be included in the table by specifying a line number. Click New.
-
In (GLS061/E), specify a description and the From and To accounting strings as selection values. Press Enter.
