Create Value Type for Fixed Assets

This document explains how you define value types for a company's fixed assets. Value types are used to keep track of any possible value you need to follow up on regarding a certain asset type.

Outcome

Value types for fixed assets are defined. A value type is a user-defined designated amount for a value.

User-defined value types with ID, name and reverse sign can be entered.

Specific Settings

  • Connect (optional) value types to a fixed asset type in 'FA Type. Connect Depreciation Types' (FAS077), which is reached from 'FA Type. Open' (FAS075).
  • Enter a value type as a basis for a certain type of depreciation in 'Fixed Asset. Connect Depreciation Types' (FAS002).
  • Add or remove value types for a fixed asset type in 'Standard Value Type. Open per FA Type' (FAS078).
  • Review value types with amounts in 'Fixed Asset. Connect Value Types' (FAS003), which is reached from (FAS001).
  • Enter value types to define which amounts are to be presented for the fixed asset in (FAS200). The value types are defined in 'Column Template – Display FA. Open' (FAS040).
  • Enter value types to define which amounts are to be printed for the fixed asset in (FAS510). The value types are defined in 'Column Template FA Value. Open' (FAS045).
  • Enter the value type for reacquisition cost for the cost of capital method in 'Cost of Capital Method. Open' (FAS090), if the method used is based on the reacquisition cost.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Review value types and amounts for a fixed asset in 'FA Value. Display' (FAS210), which is reached from (FAS200).
  • Print a report of detailed values in 'Fixed Asset. Print Values Detailed' (FAS550).
  • Print an insurance report in 'Fixed Asset. Print Insurance Report' (FAS560).

Enter value types when configuring the following programs:

  • 'Settings – Fixed Asset Acquisition' (FAS900)
  • 'Settings – Cost of Capital Calculation' (FAS915)
  • 'Settings – Extraordinary Depreciation' (FAS920)
  • 'Settings – Fixed Asset Sales' (FAS925)
  • 'Settings – Fixed Asset Sales' (FAS926)
