Create Invoice Remittance for Direct Debiting/Factoring

This document explains how you select customer invoices that should be sent to the bank for direct debiting or that you have sold or pledged to a factoring company.

Outcome

All customer invoices that belong to payment class 5 (Direct debiting) or 6 (Factoring) and that match the specified selection criteria are included in a printed or electronic remittance statement.

When using a company bank account in a foreign currency, only invoices with the same currency as the bank account will be selected. With a company bank account in the company’s local currency, invoices in all currencies will be selected.

Continue with the activity described in Reconciling Customer Payments through Direct Debiting and Factoring.

Follow these steps to create a remittance proposal

  1. Start 'Bank Remittance. Open' (ARS300/B).

Previously created proposals and final remittance statements are displayed. These statuses are used:

    Status Description
1 The remittance proposal is created and can be processed.
2 The proposal or final statement is being used by another user.
4 The proposal or final statement is being deleted.
6 The proposal or final statement is being printed or created.
9 The final statement is created.
  2. Select sorting order 1='Remittance number'. The other sorting orders are reserved for sorting and reviewing purposes.

  3. In the 'Payment class' field, specify alternative 5='Direct debiting' or 6='Factoring'. Press Enter to update the panel and click New.

  4. On (ARS301/E), specify one or several payment types and payment methods.

If no payment method is specified, all payment methods for payment class 5 are included in the selection.

  5. Define any of these selection ranges: salesperson, district, country, customer group, payer, customer, due date (the 'To due date' is a required value and is used as the payment date, depending on how the payment method is configured), and invoice date.

  6. Specify the company bank account used for the remittance and the remittance date (required values). Press Enter.

  7. Review the printed proposal and error report.

    • Create a partial payment of the invoice by changing the payment amount.
    • Adjust the proposed cash discount values (amount, date, percentage), provided that a cash discount was used on the invoice.
    • Change the proposed payment date.
  4. On (ARS310/B), press F3 to return to (ARS300/B).

Follow these steps to confirm a proposal

  1. On (ARS300/B), select option 9='Confirm' for the proposal.

  2. On the E panel, review the proposed remittance date.

  3. For direct debiting only: When applicable, select the check boxes for 'Electronic confirmation' to indicate that account entries are created when the payments are confirmed by the bank and/or 'One bank transaction' to indicate whether transactions are created per invoice or one transaction per remittance. Press Enter.
