Project orders

To create a project automatically when a quotation is released in M3 Equipment Quotation Management, use a project template that was earlier defined on the quotation order type in 'Quotation type. Open' (QUS020).

The project template provides a structure. When you add a line to the EQM quotation, a corresponding element of the project template is automatically added.

The project template number is replaced with the project number when you have created the project. The customer connected to the quotation is connected as a partner (with Partner type = 0) in 'Project. Connect Partner' (POS176). The project manager defined in the quotation head is connected to the automatically created project.

If you specify an already existing project number when creating the quotation, it overrides the project template number defined on the quotation type. The entered project order number and its elements are applied to the corresponding quotation lines.

You cannot automatically update already existing quotation lines by adding a project number and element on the quotation header.
