Field Group

Field group represents a grouping of several fields from different files displayed in 'Field Group. Open' (CRS108). Field groups are system-defined and cannot be changed.

The available fields to use in a list or report is managed in the program 'Field Group. Display Permitted Fields' (CRS109). Use alternative 21='Field Group' to launch (CRS109) from these programs:

  • 'List and Printer Programs. Configure' (CMS005)
  • 'XML Structure Section. Open Element' (CMS009)
  • 'Information Browser Category. Open' (CMS010)

Parameters to set

Label

The label for a specific field is controlled by the 'Label method' field using these methods:

  • 1 = No label

    The field has no label attribute.

  • 2 = Standard message ID (default value)

    The standard M3 message ID is retrieved from the file where the field originates. The label text is retrieved from the message file MVXCON in the end user's M3 language.

  • 3 = Overriding message ID

    An overriding M3 message ID and a message file are specified. The label text is retrieved from the specified message file in the end user's M3 language. If no message file is specified, MVXCON is used.

  • 4 = Overriding name

    An overriding label text is specified. Any translations must be manually specified by using the 'Language' button. The overriding label text can be 1–15 characters long.
