Delete data in Work Tables
Some work tables might contain a large number of irrelevant records that causes unnecessary cost for disk usage. Data can be deleted from some work tables in 'Work Table. Delete' (AMS400).
Delete data in work tables
Remove old records by confirming (AMS400/E) with a selection on a specific table and a date interval. The list of available work tables are extended over time.
It is required to have a record in 'Archiving. Open Toolbox' (AMS100) with at least '1' in the 'Arch policy 1'. This is to reduce the risk of deleting records that are still needed. It would, for example, create serious problems if you delete OINVIP records that belong to an invoice job that should be restarted in 'CO Invoice. Restart Processing' (OIS980).
Daily runs for clean up archiving programs
Some archiving programs automatically start using the auto job CMONASJ. The archiving programs affect system-related data that should hold little to no business value. The selection accepts the archiving policy of the archive program in 'Archiving. Open Toolbox' (AMS100) but if no archive policy has been set, the default selection is retained to two months. Additionally, the archive program 'Output Data. Delete' (MNS906) keeps output files.
- 'Output Data. Delete' (MNS906)
- 'System Logs. Delete' (CMS330)
- 'Submitted Job. Delete' (MNS900)
The logs of the archive runs are found in 'Archiving Log. Open' (AMS300) with the description 'System maintenance: Daily archiving run'. To get the results of each run, set 'Arch log table' to 3-'Detail table log' in 'Archiving. Open Toolbox' (AMS100). If the daily archiving job was unable to start the archiving job, or if the job was terminated or did not finish within one hour, an application message is sent to the environment responsible defined in 'System Settings. Open' (MNS090).
