Capacity adjustments for maintenance purposes
You can define temporary capacity adjustments on your work center resources, which overrules the standard shift pattern for the specified period. The relevant non-working calendar is still respected. The temporary adjustments to working times are registered in the M3 BE database. When you adjust capacity for maintenance purposes, you can open up time intervals of an appropriate length for the scheduling and locking of work orders on nights and weekends.
You can set up plant maintenance as work orders in SWB, where work order operations use capacity while maintenance is done. When you plan a work order operation, you can plan the other operation either before or after the maintenance schedule. Another option is to set up handle locked work order operations as capacity adjustments. Use the Automatic Function 2 Create close period capacity adjustments for externally locked work order operations to convert work order operations into capacity adjustments. This function enables you to plan normal operations across externally locked work order operations.
