Moving modifications between tenants

You can move the SWB modifications between tenants or from one user to another. See Modifications before creating modifications.

It is important to know that when you move modifications, the existing changes for the second tenant or user are overwritten. To move the modifications between tenants or users, you must first export the modifications. A zip file is generated that is used to import the modifications.

These are the steps for the first SWB tenant or user:

  1. On SWB, select System > System Information > Control Files.
  2. Click Export custom files.
  3. Specify the file name.

You can include these in the file name:

    • Type of data
    • Current date
    • Other ID to identify origin of modifications
  4. On the AppStream directory for Temporary files, click Save.
  5. On the AppStream menu, select My Files > Temporary Files.
  6. Click the arrow on the right of the zip file that was created.
  7. Click Download.
If modifications are moved to another user, you must send the zip file to the new user.

These are the steps for the second SWB tenant or user:

  1. On the AppStream menu, click My Files > Temporary Files.
  2. Click Upload Files.
  3. Click Open or double-click the selected SWB zip file on your local computer.
  4. On SWB, select System > System Information > Control Files.
  5. Click Import custom files.
  6. Select Temp folder and click OK.
  7. Select the SWB zip file you uploaded and click Open.

The current SWB modifications will be overwritten and a warning message is displayed.

If you want to overwrite or lose the current SWB modifications, click Yes. To save the current SWB modifications for later use, you can export the SWB modifications as described in the steps. Specify a relevant file name for the zip file that clearly identifies the origin.

  8. If you clicked Yes to import, the SWB modifications are now applied.
Note: You can move panel modifications from System > System Information > Panel Files.
