Scheduling Board
The Scheduling Board provides a graphical overview of the schedule across resources and time. The schedule is displayed with one row for each selected work center resource. The length of operations over time is based on finite capacity. Resources are displayed on the left side of the screen and the time axis along the top.
The Scheduling Board provides integrated tools for validating and optimizing your schedule manually.
The Scheduling Board is used in most cases where a manual optimization of the schedule is required. The Scheduling Board is most often used during the scheduling process.
- The Gantt Chart.
The Gantt Chart is an on-line graphic scheduling tool. This tool displays the operations that are placed on each work center resource for a specified period of time, based on finite capacity.
- Manual operation scheduling.
This tool can be used to optimize the sequence in which the selected operations occur on various work center resources. You can decrease the setup time on specific bottleneck resources. This tool allows oven scheduling, that is, you can assign the same start and end times to a group of operations.
- Single order scheduling.
The schedule for a single order can be optimized separately. Forward order scheduling, setting pull-up codes and conducting pull-up scheduling can be carried out on the selected single orders.
- Material profile.
The material profile is a graphic view of the actual quantity in stock of a selected item. Simultaneously, you can view a detailed item list.
Each operation is displayed as a colored band. The choice of color can be based on the order group, the operation status or, if defined, the order priority. The length of the color band, which begins at the calendar start of the operation and finishes at its end, represents the duration of an operation. Because the band length does not depend on the opening times that are defined on the work center resource, the operation duration can be displayed differently in the chart if the operation is moved.
A vertical yellow line indicates the current time. Two vertical orange lines indicate the boundary horizons if they are greater than zero.

Extended button description:
Button | Function |
---|---|
Modify operation data | To activate a pen-shaped cursor, use this button. Point to an operation and click. The detailed information on the operation is displayed. You can modify part of the operation. This button is useful for job reporting. |
Manual operation scheduling | To perform interactive sequence optimization and rescheduling of the operations from the list, use this button. You can select and remove operations from the scheduling board. Then, using the Schedule button, you can select one or several operations and return them to the scheduling board. Operations are rescheduled and all constraints are respected. The operations are placed on the work center resource so that the start time of the first operation is the point at which the cursor is placed. |
Single order scheduling | To schedule one order at a time, use this button. If an order is not scheduled, the order band in the list is displayed in green. If an order is scheduled, the order band in the list is displayed in red. |
Order group scheduling | To conduct order scheduling on the select order groups, use this button. To allow the partial re-scheduling of orders, specify a start and end order group number. |
Execute workflow | To activate the workflow that is selected in the field to the right, use this button. Simulating the consequences is useful after manual changes in the scheduling board. Different works flows can be used to sequence optimize or just simulate consequences. |
Select operation | To assign the same color to all the operations that belong to the same selected order, click an operation with this button. The identification of the selected operations is displayed on the operation band. Supplemental information is displayed in the information block that is at the bottom of the panel. |
Move operation |
To move an operation manually, use this button:
|
Toggle order mode |
Here, the Gantt Chart only displays the resources with which the select orders are manufactured. The work center resources, on which the operations for the selected order are scheduled, are displayed in red in the chart. Alternate resources are displayed in green. To return to the original Gantt Chart format, click the button again. |
Toggle freeze mode |
To follow up on the current status according to the frozen schedule and the latest start and end times that are acquired from backward scheduling, use this button. The chart changes and only displays the work center resources on which the selected order is scheduled. Each resource is represented three times by different colors:
To return to the original Gantt Chart format, click the icon again. |
Toggle supply mode |
Only the work center resources on which the selected order is scheduled are displayed in red. The resources in green represent the placement of the last operation in the order, that is, the last order that delivers to the current order. To return to the original Gantt Chart format, click the button again. |
