On-premises

On-premises license

M3 PWB is installed on a computer and runs at the user level. On-premises installation requires a hardware-dependent license key.

You must submit the generated reference code file by email to one of these addresses:
  • APAC.Keys@infor.com
  • EMEA.Keys@infor.com
  • AMER.Keys@infor.com

along with this information:

  • Product name and version requested
  • Client name and client ID number
  • Client contact name and email address

The reference code is used to generate a valid license key, which is returned to the client’s contact email address. After you receive the license key from Infor, you must place the key into the license folder. The standard installation path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Infor\M3Swb16_1_0\License, but this depends on the directories that are selected during the installation.

On-premises

On-premises installaion uses default directories. It is recommended to use standard directories.

Retrieve the PWB install from the Infor Product Download Center.

To share PWB configuration, one user exports it as a schedule version in a zip file. Another user can then import the zip file and apply the configuration. PWB configuration can be shared between users running PWB on MT AppStream and those running PWB on-premises.

New versions of PWB must be installed on each computer. Data and configuration are automatically converted between PWB versions (if the previous version is PWB 16.1.0 or later). Customer modifications (panels and parameter file) are handled by the customer, who must ensure the modifications work in the new PWB version.

You can change the standard installation directories during installation because of these deployment scenarios:
  • PWB is installed in different local directories.
  • PWB is deployed to a server environment.
  • PWB is deployed to a remote desktop environment.

Different directories on the computer

Company IT rules may be a reason for selecting several directories on the computer. You can select several directories on the computer. You must verify that PWB works and ensure to remember the installation directories when you install a new PWB version.
