Moving configuration between tenants

You can move the PWB configuration between tenants or from one user to another.

It is important to know that when you are moving configuration, all the existing data and configuration on the second tenant or user is overwritten.

You have your own configuration for each tenant. To move the configuration between tenants or users, you must first export the schedule version, which contains the configuration. A zip file is generated that is used to import the schedule version including the configuration.

These are the steps for the first PWB tenant or user:

  1. On PWB, select System > Schedule Versions.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Specify this information:
    Warehouse group
Select the warehouse group file name.
    M3 BE user
Select the M3 BE user file name.
    Current date
Specify a value for the date.
  4. Click OK.
  5. On the AppStream directory for Temporary files, click Save.
  6. On the AppStream menu, select My Files > Temporary Files.
  7. Click the arrow on the right of the zip file that was created.
  8. Click Download.
If configuration is moved to another user, you must send the zip file to the new user.

These are the steps for the second PWB tenant or user:

  1. On the AppStream menu, click My Files > Temporary Files.
  2. Click Upload Files.
  3. Click Open or double-click the selected PWB zip file on your local computer.
  4. On PWB, select System > Schedule Versions.
  5. Click Import.
  6. Select Temp folder and click OK.
  7. Select the PWB zip file you uploaded and click Open.

A Current PWB version and configuration will be overwritten warning message is displayed.

To overwrite or lose the current PWB configuration, click Yes. To save the current PWB configuration for later use, you can export the PWB configuration as described in the steps. Specify a relevant file name for the zip file that clearly identifies the origin.

  8. If you clicked Yes to import, the PWB configuration is now applied.
Note: The ION API credentials are not included in the configuration. See Setting up ION API for the steps on how to specify the ION API credentials.
