Field length

The number of characters between the start and end control characters (not including them) usually defines the length of each field. Nevertheless, to include the starting character in the field length, use the @@6 function.

If the field length is not long enough to contain a field reference number, specify the field length in underscores [_]. Then specify the field reference number.
