User management
When the provisioning of M3 Portals is complete and successful, both internal and external users are available in within M3 Portals.
Internal users
Internal users use their user defined in Infor Federation Services (IFS) (OS - Security). Only internal users can be administrators.
Consider this information when connecting relevant IFS roles to the M3 Portals users:
- Only a limited number of users should be a site administrator M3PORTALS-Admin-Site.
- Only users with the M3PORTALS-Admin-Certified role can configure M3 Portals.
- M3PORTALS-Admin-Customer is a limited admin role.
- End users can have up to three user roles. These roles start with M3PORTALS-User-*.
See User administration.
External users
Partners who need access to the application must be defined as external entities. External users are linked to external entities. The structure of external entities is flexible, but if an external partner should maintain their own users, these users must have a separate external entity.
The configuration of external users consists of these steps:
- Setting up ION dataflow between Infor OS and M3 Portals by importing a configuration file
- Creating external entities (EE)
- Creating external entity users (EEU)
For detailed information and access to the configuration file, go to Product Knowledge article KB3574469 in the Infor Customer Portal.
End users
You can add relevant menu roles to different users. See User administration and Menu.
Outcome: The user menu is filled with the functions available for the different users.
