Portlet

A portlet is the main building block of M3 Portals. The portlets control what data is presented, how it is presented and what actions the user can take.

There are three main types of portlet: list, form, and search.

A list portlet presents the content in a table.
A form portlet presents the content as fields, mainly used to display, edit, or create list items.
In a search portlet, the content is presented as fields, but the search portlet has a different set of parameters for the portlet configuration than a form portlet. The search portlet is mainly used in page pop-up panels to add the possibility to filter lists in list portlets.
