Data import refresh is too slow

  • The data import depends on the settings. The most important parameters are:
    • Warehouse group
    • APS policy
    • Bucket horizon in days
    • Forecast
  • Reduce and simplify the data selection above to import data to IPW. Then change the parameters one by one until the critical setting is identified.
  • The API transactions can timeout. IPW waits for API transactions, and if an API transaction times out, the data is not loaded in IPW. To identify which API transaction causes the timeout, write the details to the log file in User Settings. Open the Log File tab and then click Refresh. The log file is continuously updated with information from the API transactions. When there are no changes in the log file for a longer period, the API transactions are likely causing the issue. Copy all the content from the log file to a text file. Based on the log file, you can identify the API transaction causing the issue.
  • Test the API transactions with the issue identified above using Metadata Published. It is critical to use the same parameters that IPW uses.
