Actions

This table shows the control buttons and their functions available in the Actions tab of the IPW new UI:


Action	Function
Refresh	This is used to retrieve information from M3 BE.
Undo	This is used to undo all decisions that were taken since the last update.
Commit	This implements all decisions taken in the application. Depending on the decisions, you can use this to create, change, or delete the necessary orders in M3 BE or change other relevant data.
Refresh Committed	This is used to retrieve information for item numbers where decisions are committed. You can use this if the decisions are committed on a limited number of items.
Settings	This is used to configure the settings of the application. Note: Press F13 on your keyboard to open Settings.
Retrieve Favorite	This is used to retrieve personal favorite settings, shared favorite settings, or predefined favorite settings. You can filter shared favorites by owner to give better overview and quickly identify the relevant shared favorite. Note: The name of selected favorite setting is displayed right after the Retrieve Favorite button.
User Settings	In User Settings, specify this information: Write details to log file Select the check box to analyze the IPW data or to document IPW issues. You can clear the check box to improve performance. Display grid tooltip Select the check box to get the detailed tooltip information for cells in the grid. Favorite owner display Select from the list to display the owner ID or the owner name. The name of the selected favorite setting is displayed next to the Retrieve Favorite button. Excel decimal point Select the Excel separator from Windows default, period, or comma.
Administrator Settings	You must have the IPW role, IPWADMIN, defined in MNS410 to access this tool. There are three IPW roles defined in MNS405/MNS410: IPWADMIN: This enables access to the Administrator Settings. IPWPLANNER: This enables decision in IPW. IPWVIEWER: This enables users to view data in IPW, but not take decision in IPW. User division restriction These are the options in user division restriction: No restriction No decision Full restriction The user restriction to divisions are defined in MNS151 to control if you can access data from that division. Modification restrictions for shared favorites No restriction: All users can modify all shared favorites. No restriction with warning: Users receive a warning when attempting to modify shared favorites they do not own. However, all users can still modify shared favorites. Restrict to owner and administrator: You can modify shared favorites that you own. Administrators must be able to modify any shared favorites.
Delete User Data	You must have the IPW role, IPWADMIN, defined in MNS410 to access this tool. Administrators can perform housekeeping tasks for non-active users. For example, if users leave the company or change positions, the administrator can remove unused favorites owned by the user.
Transfer Shared Favorites	Shared favorites are migrated from the previous IPW version. You can manually trigger the migration of shared favorites from previous IPW versions. If the ID of a shared favorite already exists in the IPW new UI, the shared favorite will not be overwritten.
Transfer Personal Favorites	Personal favorites are migrated from the previous IPW version. It is possible to manually trigger migration of personal favorites from previous IPW versions. In case the ID of the shared favorite already exists in IPW new UI, then the shared favorite will not be overwritten.

Action	Function
Update	This is used to retrieve information from M3 BE.
Undo	This is used to undo all decisions that were taken since the last update.

Upd Com	This is used to retrieve information for item numbers where decisions are committed. You can use this if the decisions are committed on a limited number of items.
Firm	This confirms planned Manufacturing Order Proposals and planned Purchase Order Proposals. The firmed MOP and firmed POP are not changed by MRP. The planner can keep the supply as planned.
Release	This releases Manufacturing Order Proposals and planned Purchase Order Proposals directly from the application. You can use this when the MOP or the POP is planned to be produced soon.
Tools	This is used to create suggestions and specify PIN codes for the application.
Related	This is used to calculate MRP or open other programs for selected item in the grid.
