Grid
The Grid is the primary part of the application where the planner can directly change the value of supplies and demands and can simulate the consequences of the applied changes.
The grid shows the projected on-hand balance or proj-OHB over a number of buckets. The balance for a specific date and time are displayed at the top of each proj-OHB columns. All demands and supplies for the specific dates and times are displayed between the proj-OHB columns. Each displayed cell in the grid has a tool tip that shows detailed information to calculate the value in the cell.
You can select which columns to display in the grid in the Display tab under Settings. The user can add more columns per bucket or, alternatively, not display supplies, demands, or proj-OHBs.
These are the information displayed in demand, supply, and proj-OHB:
- Demand
Demand is calculated as the sum of IPW Forecast, MO/MOP - material issue, DOP issue, Released DOs - issue, and other demands.
IPW Forecast depends on these parameter settings:
- If Manual
Forecast is enabled and the value of Manual Forecast is greater than zero, and if
Manual Forecast is not
equal to forecast type, the forecast for Inventory Planning Workbench is calculated as:
Change + Max (Manual forecast - shipped CO, open CO)
You can set Manual Forecast in .
- If Forecast
Method is set as , the forecast for Inventory Planning Workbench is calculated
as:
Remaining Forecast + open CO
You can set Forecast Method in .
- If Forecast

- Supply
Supply displays contributions from orders. The acquisition code controls which order is displayed in the supply cell:
- 1: Manufactured considers supplies from manufacturing orders
- 2: Purchased considers from purchase orders
- 3: Distribution considers supplies from distribution orders
- Projected on-hand balance
Displays projected on-hand balance and calculates coverage time for the projected on-hand balance. Projected on-hand balance is calculated from the three previous cells, for example, previous projected on-hand balance, demand, and supply for projected on-hand balance calculations.
Projected on-hand balance for the first bucket is different. It is based on the approved on-hand balance and is adjusted for any outstanding demands and supplies.
